Ron Santo Tribute - Chicago Cubs
Ron Santo Tribute - Statue To Honor The Cubs Legendary 3rd Baseman / Announcer

Chicago Cubs legendary Ron Santo, and lovable broadcaster passed away towards the end of 2010, but in 2011 Ronnie will be honored with a statue that will stand along side the statues of Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, and Harry Carray.

Ron Santo had a Hall of Fame caliber career, belting 342 home runs, and 1331 rbis. Santo also won 5 gold gloves. Ronnie was known for his passion for the game, and dedicated love for the Chicago Cubs.

A tribute will be given in Santo's honor on August 10th (Santo wore #10 for the Cubs), outside of Wrigley Field. Santo's number has already been retired by the Cubs, and now Ronnie will be forever enshrined outside of historic Wrigley Field.

We will always remember the way the Santo played on the field, and his passionate voice heard over the radio as he cheered on the Cubs every day.  The greatest fan, with a heart of a champion. Santo battled diabetes the way he lived his life. In the end, Santo won the battle and he will be standing outside of the stadium overlooking with approval on the day that the Chicago Cubs finally win the World Series for the first time since 1908.
