The Cubs will have the financial means necessary to sign Pujols, with the huge expiring contracts of Jose Silva, Aramis Ramirez, and Kosuke Fukudome. Just taking those contracts alone off the payroll and the Cubs would have the money to pay Pujols 25-30 million dollars a year! Can you imagine the numbers he could put up in Wrigley Field? Can you imagine the excitement at the ball park? Could the Cubs make a realistic run at the 2012 World Series? There are a lot of questions that will be answered in time, but it seems as if the stars are aligning for the Chicag Cubs.
The Cubs owner Tom Rickets has been a fairly conservative owner since he bought the franchise from the Chicago Tribune company. If Rickets could somehow bring Pujols to the Cubs could you imagine the hysteria created all off season and leading up to the 2012 season? Jersey sales alone would offset a large portion of Pujol's salary. I really don't think I'm exaggerating that nearly every home game will be sold out, and tickets will be hard to come by!

Some will say that the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees rivalry is more heated amongst the fans, but that would quickly change if Albert Pujols came to the Cubs! It would be the most devastating blow that the Cubs could possibly give to the Cardinals. The Lou Brock lopsided trade from years past would be quickly erased from the minds of long time suffering Cub fans.

Cardinal fans are already losing sleep over watching Pujols step to the plate at Busch Stadium wearing a Cub blue jersey! The stadium would be evenly divided and the sports world will watch with anticipation as the drama builds to its climatic conclusion!
